Videos

IFIT helps fragile and conflict-affected states achieve more inclusive negotiations and sustainable transitions out of war or authoritarianism. Our series of one-minute videos (in English, Arabic, French and Spanish) outline the innovative approaches we bring to support locally-led efforts to break cycles of conflict or repression.

How We Work

IFIT operates a unique organisational model that seeks to harness the expertise, experience and networks of purpose-built groupings of thematic and in-country thought leaders.

Country Brain Trusts

Composed of recognised social, business and political leaders, IFIT’s purpose-built country brain trusts play a critical role in bridging national and community-level processes of dialogue and transition.

Inclusive Narratives

In fragile and conflict-affected states, nurturing more complex and unifying narratives may be more impactful than new policies.

Social Covenants

Building strong 'horizontal' ties that unite diverse ethnic, religious and social groups is critical to establishing a stable 'vertical' social contract between citizens and the state.

Locally-Led Transition Aid

In countries transitioning out of war or authoritarian rule, the key to aid effectiveness lies in empowering locals to develop strategies to prepare for and direct the incoming aid.

The Peace Treaty Initiative

Filling a critical gap in the existing laws of war, IFIT’s global initiative to develop an international treaty on peace negotiations aims to incentivise warring parties to choose negotiation as a pathway to peace.
